Manufacturing Supervisor
Manufacturing Supervisor (180000QQ)Responsible for first-line direction of non-exempt employees involved in print production, bindery finishing, or shipping and receiving operations. Reviews production schedules, material and manpower resources.Promotes/supports teamwork, safety, environmental concerns, quality and ISO procedures, employee development, productivity and good housekeeping practices (including 5S).Work with Director of Operations to achieve productivity standards of performance. This includes feet per clock hour, waste, make-ready percentage per clock hour and other standards specified by the plant manager.Encourage strict adherence to the quality procedures and standards implemented by the Quality Control Dept.Coordinate efforts between manufacturing areas as they relate to daily activities and special projects.Recommend new equipment and equipment upgrades.Maintain an evaluation program and corrective action program in accordance with company policy. Enforce company safety policies in Pressroom, Bindery, and Bielomatics.Responsible for overall efficiency of Pressroom, Bielomatics and Bindery. Recommend procedural changes to enhance productivity. Study and utilize production records to attain a top level of productivity with a minimum of non-chargeable time, spoiled work and waste.Evaluate new jobs and make recommendations to improve quality and maximize production.Work with customers on press checks and plant tours and represent LSC Communications as a world class printer.Cooperate with other department heads concerning customer relations, production planning and scheduling. Meet with Order Entry Manager on a regular basis to maintain a thorough knowledge of all jobs in progress.Notify Plant Manager of all pertinent information related to the manufacturing areas on a daily basis.Participate in production department employee hiring process.Understand and insure adherence to established ISO9002 procedures affecting all departments in the manufacturing area.Maintain a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods and the like.QualificationsBASICKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
